This thread is to discuss the UK Election on December 12th 2019 and whether Bozza, Jezza or the libdem’s Swinson will get the nod.

So we are at the cooking end of the matter. Boris has given his pitch, with a “take it or leave it” message. The normal remainers are saying “no way no way” but given the alternative – out with no deal – there may yet be a way forward.

I think this is going to end up with a deal personally…

well we’re a bit late but they took it. question now, is will they agree to extend it again at end of january!

About half way through and I see Labour gaining ground. I think the Tories have misjudged it and Labour are going to get close enough to win with the SNP or they might just manage the whole thing themselves. How embarrassing would it be for the tories if they stuffed up two elections in a row!!!!

I quite like the 4 day working week. microsoft japan tried it recently and productivity shot up. who’s to say it wouldnt work in europe too ?

So we are going into the final month.

It couldnt be any closer now. The remainers are plotting to overthrow Johnson. Johnson doesnt give a toss and is heading on regardless. It could end up with the Queen having to step in.

YOu couldnt make this stuff up. Its definitely do or die for Brexit. If it doesnt happen now, it wont happen.

Speaker is back again! Well, he’s back since proroging was deemed illegal. And today he has the nerve of asking people to calm down in the commons and use more respectful language! This from the most bullying, one sided, non-neutral Speaker ever!

That’s probably the case if the UK leaves. I’m sure Farage will moan if the UK ends up striking a deal with the EU, but once the country is out then he won’t have much support.

It’s so amusing watching the outrage today over what Boris has done. Remain have broken many constitutional rules to frustrate the Brexit process but when someone else tries it then they’re furious. Parliament has had 3 years to resolve this and have gotten nowhere which is why Boris is absolutely right to remove them from the equation and deliver the result of the 2016 referendum.

Barry Gardener just seemed to recommend civil disobedience on LBC. Its on the edge of all kicking off.

You couldnt make this stuff up. The West Coast Main Line, is going to be run by a company from Scotland (soon perhaps a seperate country) and the Italian Government (!), check it out on Sky https://news.sky.com/story/first-trenitalia-to-take-over-west-coast-main-line-rail-services-11785017

This is just ridiculous. I am all for privatization instead of nationalization but this means the public owner of Italy effectively now runs part of the UK rail network!! its absurd!

Independent today pointing out that now all main lines are partially run by foreign government owned companies, crazy. Richard Branson said he was “bitterly disappointed” to be losing the franchise, I didnt realize he had had it for 23 years.

Now HS2 is up for review!!!! If they cancel this – having already spent 10 billion on it – it’ll be one of the biggest back downs since the cancellation of nhs IT.

So it’s all set now. He has this month to see off a leadership challenge, solve the Irish border problem, arrange a trade deal and get his girlfriend into the USA.

He’s either going to be an astonishing prime minister or yet another failure.
